KRISTI MURRIN 500 E-RYT
Lead Trainer, Kristi Murrin grew up in West Virginia and moved to Colorado in 1990. She began her studies with healing arts when she first went to an acupuncturist in Crested Butte for chronic back pain. She was recommended to an Iyengar yoga class and after the first week of classes she knew yoga would always be an important part of her life.
Her interest for the healing arts grew and in 1993 she moved to Boulder, Co to begin her studies in Homeopathy at the International School of Homeopathy. There she spent four years completing a certification program for Homeopathic Consultation. At the same time she continued her education at the University of Colorado and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology.
Her passion for adventure and travel led her to a job teaching at a traveling high school for teenagers who are advanced whitewater kayakers. For six years she travelled around the world teaching math, science and occasionally yoga to the World Class Kayak Academy Students. She has kayaked in Africa, China, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru and all over the US.
In 2010 she decided to travel to Indonesia and complete her first of many certifications to teach yoga. Since then, she now has over 500hrs of training with Shiva Rea, the creator and founder of Prana Flow©, a vinyasa style of yoga that integrates natural body movement with the alignment of breath and asana.
Her most recent studies have been focused on the ancient teachings of Ayurveda, and has completed her 500hr certification as a AyuryogaÒ Wellness Consultant with Maria Garre and Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic institute in Albuquerque New Mexico. Ayurveda teaches the art of living in harmony with the five elements in nature. She is also trained in Ayurvedic Marma Point Therapy and Pulse diagnosis.
In the last two years, Kristi has been invited to teach weekend seminars for Yoga Teacher Trainings on Ayurveda, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yin Yoga and Vinyasa Flow. She has a love of teaching and travelling; two activities she is finally meshing together to create magical trips focused on creating an environment for any adventure enthusiast who enjoys exploring the natural environment and a deeper connection to their personal self healing, growth and awareness.
Kristi is a full time resident of Crested Butte Colorado and has a Homeopathy, Ayurveda and Yoga practice available for private consultations. Her contact number is (970)596-7337 to schedule an appointment. Or visit her web page at www.kristimurrin.com

Yoga Philosophy
I moved to Crested Butte in 1999 having no idea I would return for so many winters and now finally summers too! The first love of my life was dance. Growing-up I study tap, jazz, ballet, and modern dance. In high school I performed in the theater, with a traveling dance company and was on the high school varsity competing dance line. While at University, I managed to fit in African and Ballroom dance classes and auditioned dance performances. Dance was always a foundation for joy and deep connection in my life. After college I gratefully fell into yoga. I have since, explored deep connection and presence through yoga, meditation, NIA, and yoga trace dance. I have been a yoga and mediation practitioner since 1994. I earned both my 200hr yoga teacher certification (in 2009) and my 500hr advance teacher certification (in 2014) from the Sivananda Ashram. I have returned every year to the Sivananda Ashram to study the philosophy and practical application of Raja Yoga (Ashtanga 8-limbs of yoga) and Bhakti Yoga. These studies have included an in-depth look at the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. I am well established in Zen Meditation and have spent 4-5 months per year for the last four years living and practicing full time at the Crestone Mountain Zen Center.

The art of sequencing, Yoga business and ethics.
Yoga is the journey to self-discovery; it is an endless process of finding out who we are and then allowing our gifts to shine through. I am an avid skier, rock climber and mountain biker and the foundation of my training is yoga. Not only does it give me a faster recovery time but also better balance, agility and focus to accomplish the task at hand. Yoga is a tool that is complimentary to anyone at any stage in life. Being present and understanding ourselves is what keeps us evolving, moving and becoming who we truly want to be; so come flow with me. More information at www.katiedark.com

The Art of Kirtan and Yoga Philosopy
Yoga has been a part of my life for over 15 years. Around the time I began my studies in massage therapy and holistic health, I came to the understanding that my entire yoga practice could be as simple as aligning my spine and taking a few deep breaths. I slowly began to dive deeper into my yogic path. The first time I did kirtan, the practice of chanting sacred, ancient mantras with music, I entered a profound state of tranquillity. With the newfound realization that my practice could be singing ancient mantras of love, gratitude and joy, I was inspired to take my studies to a higher level. I immersed myself in the teachings brought to the west by Ram Dass and several other amazing yogis and today I am honored and humbled to be able to share these ancient teachings.
Yoga is many things to many people but often defined as the union of the self with the One Divine Universal Consciousness. From the teachings of Yoga come many practices designed to bring the practitioner into the present moment, into a place of infinite love and abundance, where life exists.
My intention is to provide soulful, heart-focused, breath-centered transmissions of these sacred teachings through traditional Yogic practices including pranayama (breath), asana (posture), dhyana (meditation) and mantra, as well as drawing from practices of other ancient cultures, to help practitioners clear their minds, connect with their hearts and realize that we are all cells in the same body...we are all One Love.
Thank you to all of my teachers, especially Ram Dass, Krishna Das, Govin Das, Saul David Raye, Monica Mesa and Kristi Murrin.
